S R Automats machines precision turned components on sliding-head CNCs, turning centres and cam automats for OEMs in automotive, electronics, hydraulics and industrial equipment, from prototype quantities to volume production.
About the company
S R Automats is a proprietary manufacturing concern founded in 2003 in Bengaluru's Rajajinagar Industrial Town. We manufacture and job-work automat and CNC turned components to customer drawings, in metals and engineering plastics.
Most of our customers run ISO-certified quality systems, so we work to their inspection plans. Every batch is checked against the drawing, traceable to its raw-material lot, and packed to arrive ready for assembly. Our parts also reach the USA as part of our customers' export assemblies.
We take on prototypes, small batches and large-scale runs, and work with customers' engineers on material choice, tooling and manufacturability before the first chip is cut.
Capabilities
Primary turning and secondary operations are done under one roof, which keeps lead times short and gives us full control of the tolerance chain.
Swiss-type machines from Tsugami and Citizen turn long, slender and complex parts in a single setup, fed by automatic bar loaders.
LMW and Geedee Weiler turning centres handle larger diameters, flanges, bores and short, stocky components with repeatable accuracy.
Traub and PMT automats produce high-volume, simpler profiles such as pins, bushes and fittings at the lowest cost per piece.
Dedicated machines for polygon milling, cross drilling, tapping, slotting, knurling and thread rolling complete the part to drawing.
Sliding-head CNC in action
Footage from our sliding-head line: bar stock fed by the Steady 326 bar feeder, gang tools cutting under flood coolant, and finished parts collected straight from the machine.
What we make
Every part is made to the customer's drawing. These are the families we produce most often.
Stepped and grooved shafts with close diameter tolerances and fine surface finish for rotating assemblies.
Special bolts, screws, studs and nuts with rolled or cut threads, in steel, stainless and brass.
Hex-bodied fittings, adaptors and couplings for hydraulic, pneumatic and fluid-handling systems.
Flanged and plain bushes with concentric bores for wear surfaces in engines, gearboxes and machinery.
Valve stems, spindles, seats and bodies for flow control in plumbing, HVAC and industrial process equipment.
Small, intricate brass and copper pins, terminals, contacts and housings for electrical and electronic products.
Parts portfolio
A selection of components from regular production, from micro pins a few millimetres long to multi-feature fittings finished with milling, cross drilling and threading.

Plant & machinery
Japanese, German and Indian machines, run by engineers, setters and operators who know them well.
Supporting equipment for grinding, deburring and slotting is held alongside the main machines, together with a full inspection room.
Current works: 3,000 sq ft built area, Rajajinagar Industrial Town.

Manufacturing process
Each order follows the same documented route, so every batch is made, checked and packed the same way.

Bars arrive with mill test certificates. We verify grade, diameter, straightness and finish, then tag each lot with a batch number.
Bars are cut to length or loaded straight into sliding-head machines through automatic bar feeders.
Facing, step turning, grooving, threading, chamfering, boring and contour profiling form the part's base geometry.
Milling, cross and deep-hole drilling, tapping, reaming, slotting, polygon milling, thread rolling and knurling as the drawing requires.
Burrs removed and edges broken, followed by grinding, polishing and cleaning to the specified finish.
Through approved vendors when specified: case hardening, nitriding, zinc or nickel plating, black oxide, passivation and anodising.
Dimensional, thread and surface-finish checks with functional gauging and SPC. Only conforming parts are released.
Ultrasonic cleaning where needed, rust-preventive oil, corrosion-resistant packing and labels with batch, quantity and customer code.
Delivered to customer plants across Karnataka and beyond, with traceability back to the raw-material lot.
Materials, finishes & inspection
Even a small deviation from the drawing can stop an assembly line. That is why inspection runs through every stage of production, from incoming bar to final pack.

Inspection room
Loyalty to our customers is our first principle. Quality is how we keep it.
Parts are checked in a separate inspection room. Our Rapid VMS measures profiles, diameters, hole positions and angles without contact, and a digital measuring microscope magnifies small features such as drilled ports and edges on screen. Raw-material checks, in-process inspection and final inspection are recorded for every batch, giving full traceability from the bar to the box.
